The consultation services are conducted at Duke Hospital North (approximately 750 beds) and the Durham VA Hospital (approximately 300 beds). The VA Hospital is directly across the street from Duke North. The main hospital wards and radiology are housed at Duke North, where most of the consultations are seen.

The Clinical Microbiology Laboratory , directed by Dr. Barth Reller at Duke is a critical resource for the consultation service; this laboratory is conveniently located. The VA laboratory leadership is directed by an ID faculty member (Dr. Chris Woods).
